UWI Open Campus presents Wines and Auction Soirée
MONTEGO BAY, St James — The University of the West Indies Open Campus Montego Bay is promising a fun-filled event this evening when its Events Management group presents ‘Wines and Auction Soirée under the theme: ‘Taste Wine and Bid for a Worthy Cause,’ at the Blue Beat Ultra Lounge on the Hip Strip in the resort city.
“The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the courses that the school provides and also to raise $500,000 towards resurfacing the parking lot and the road leading to, and exiting the campus,” said Jessica Riley, the marketing manager for the committee that is staging the event.
She added that various event management groups have, over the years, hosted different types of events; however, “this is the first time a group will be hosting a wine-tasting and celebrity auction.”
“It will be three hours of hors d’oeuvres and reception, musical selection and a live auction. The event will feature exotic wines from our very own backyard. It will be an evening of relaxation with jazz performances, elegance and comfort, while enjoying the company of your peers and other interesting people,” Riley told the Jamaica Observer West.
