AS the Jamaica karting season hits its midpoint on Sunday at the Palisadoes International Raceway, Kingston, the points gaps between competitors remains as close as can be.
The meet is the fourth in its 2016 championship season.
In Comer 80, Brandon Finzi-Smith holds 49 points to lead the class. Behind him for second and third, Paul Moodie has a narrow one-point advantage over Zachary Sirgany, 36.5 and 35.5 points, respectively. Senna Summerbell is ahead of his Rotax Junior rivals, nine points up on Marc Anthony Eaton who accumulated 38. Another Sirgany, Justin, sits in third with 32.5 points. With 50.5 points to his name, Jonathan Law is over 10 points clear of Matthew Williams, who is 10 points ahead of third in class Dominic Gordon.
The 2016 Super Rotax class continues to be the new base of excitement as several of its top points scorers, led by Douglas Gore, are too close to call. Gore has 38.5 points, which he will have to defend from a tight trio running from third to fourth. Second and third place names Andrew Simmons and Timothy Stewart who are tied on 34.5 points, while David Summerbell Jr is fourth with 34.
