UWI issues fee payment notice for new school year
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, is urging students to be vigilant of deadline dates for the payment of all fees for the upcoming academic year.
The university, in a notice to all new and returning undergraduate and postgraduate students, advised students to put proper arrangements in place to minimise any “undue interruptions” in their studies.
According to the notice, students are to pay their fees — including tuition, miscellaneous and for residence — by August 28, 2016.
If students opt to pay by semester, fees for semester one should be paid by August 28, 2016 and semester two fees should be paid by January 25, 2017.
Students approaching their final year at the institution, according to the notice, will be required to pay 50 per cent of their semester two fees by February 24, 2017. The remainder of the fee must be paid, in full, by April 14, 2017.
In the meantime, UWI has advised that returning students who have outstanding fees will not be allowed to select courses for the new academic year and will be denied access to all facilities of the campus until these balances are cleared.
