Housekeeper one of two facing lottery scamming charges
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A housekeeper and an unemployed man from St James were yesterday charged by police personnel from Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) West for breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act, 2013.
The housekeeper, 22-year-old Sasha Ann Thompson, and 25-year-old Oshane Dehaney were arrested last Saturday.
MOCA said in a news release that on Saturday, investigators conducted an operation in Anchovy, St James, where premises occupied by Dehaney and Thompson was searched.
During the search, several items used in lottery scamming were reportedly found, resulting in their arrest.
The two were offered bail in the sum of $300,000 each and are booked to appear in the St James Parish Court on Wednesday, August 10.
