ISP to make purse payment after each race on St Leger Day
ISP Finance Services Limited (ISP), as a part of their sponsorship of the Jamaica St Leger, will again offer the unique service of paying purse money after the running of each race on the July 16 St Leger race day.
The announcement of this initiative came from Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ISP, Dennis Smith, at the launch of the company’s St Leger sponsorship on Tuesday last.
“For the past four years we have been servicing the racing community with our ‘On Track’ product. Ask any groom, jockey or striving trainer, and they can testify to the service we provide. This ‘On Track’ product was specially created to service a need in the racing industry for expediting the payment of purses.
“ISP’s ‘On Track’ programme simply put, takes an assignment on the individual’s winning purse in exchange for immediate payment.
“We believe that with our intervention, we have made a positive impact on the racing industry, and we at ISP look forward to a continued relationship to the benefit of all stakeholders, so we will continue to pay out purses in real time on St Leger race day,” Smith said.
ISP offering scholarships to children of horsemen
Smith also revealed that 15 ISP BTS scholarship grants of $10,000 each will be awarded to children or family members of horsemen.
“The details regarding these grants will be published leading up to the race day, and the list of awardees will be made public on the St Leger race day,” Smith affirmed.
ISP getting the fans involved
In an attempt to make the 90th running of the St Leger more successful than before, title sponsor ISP Finance Services Limited (ISP) are not only getting racing professionals involved but also racing fans.
The Leger, the final leg in the native-bred three-year-olds Triple Crown series, will be run at Caymanas Park on July 16.
For this year’s promotions, ISP will be sponsoring a live broadcast to be hosted by D’Angel at Caymanas Park.
Racing fans at the Park can win spot prizes and other giveaways if they can answer questions on ISP and the St Leger.
Two tents, to be manned by ISP team members, are to be set up at Caymanas Park to give patrons access to ISP products and services.
In addition, ISP will hold a live sing-off featuring the ISP jingle competition.
Grooms will not be left out by ISP, as there will be cash prizes for grooms of the best presented horses in all the races on the ISP St Leger race day.
