KINGSTON, Jamaica –The National Heroes Park venue in Kingston will be ready for the staging of The Best Dressed Fun in the Son, on Saturday.
This assurance was given by Lt Col (Ret’d) Richard Sadler, festival director, who said work has been taking place simultaneously on the construction of a new perimetre fence around the park by UDC contractors, while The Best Dressed Fun in the Son team prepares the grounds to accommodate a number of activities that will be available free of cost to the thousands of Jamaicans expected to attend the all-day gospel festival.
He noted also that on the day of the gospel festival the UDC contractors would be on their regular weekend off. “We are confident that the simultaneous work that is now taking place between the contractors and our team will result in the venue being comfortable for our patrons come July 16,” said Col Sadler.
“Our planning, logistics, safety and security teams are working to ensure that the site is secure, safe and comfortable. In fact, we are committed to putting in place temporary structures necessary in key areas to meet our requirements.
In addition we will be watering the grounds throughout the day in the event there is no rainfall leading up to the gospel festival,” he continued.
Col Sadler expressed gratitude to the KSAC, NSWMA, the JCF and local authorities for their support, as well as members of the immediate communities who have committed to making patrons feel welcome and safe.
