Williams third in Monaco triple jump
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s Kimberly Williams leapt 14.47m for third place in the women’s triple jump at the Monaco Diamond League.
The event was won by then outstanding Colombia, Caterine Ibarguen with 14.96 ahead of Yulimer Rojas of Venezuela with 14.64.
Williams started with 14.29m, fouled on her nest two jumps before registering 14.13m, 14.12m and 14.47m on her final jump.
Ibarguen has won the Diamond Trophy after the completion of five of the seven events. Ibarguen surged to 46 points and hold a massive 25-point advantage over Olga Rypakova of Kazakhstan with 21 points in second spot. Rojas is third with 15 points while Jamaica’s Williams is fourth on 10 points.
