Southern Basketball League semis on today
The National Integrity Action (NIA)-sponsored Southern Basketball League semi-finals open with a double-header programme at the Tony Spaulding Complex today at 6:30 pm.
Pembroke Hall Warriors will face Exed Heats in the opening game, while Arnett Gardens Rockers and the Spanish Town Spartans will battle for supremacy in the feature game at 8:00 pm.
Positive results gained by Spartans, Pembroke Hall and Exed Heats in quarter-final matches played on Tuesday catapulted them into the semi-finals where they joined Arnett Gardens Rockers.
At Pembroke Hall: The hosts defeated GC Foster 80-50 with Anthony Ferguson topscoring with 20 points and 14 rebounds, and was ably assisted by Leighton Meeks and Roger Chisholm with 14 points each, and Andrew Wilby with seven rebounds and six block shots.
Michael Johnson topscored with 14 points and nine rebounds for GC Foster, as Clean Morgan contributed 12 points and four rebounds.
At Tony Spaulding Complex: Exed topped JDF 64-56 with Rohan Robinson topscoring with 21 points and Cordell Grant adding 18 points.
In game two; Spanish Town Spartans outscored Real Lions 81-70 with Javon Bailey, 16 points, and Brian Martin, 14 points, being the main contributors to Spartans’ win.
