Lasco honours nurses

Lasco Chairman Lascelles Chin presents the Lasco National Nurse of the Year 2016-2017 trophy to Laverna Campbell, while Student Nurse of the Year Nadja Brown (left) and Nurses Association of Jamaica President Janett Coore-Farr share the moment. Occasion was the awards luncheon held on Saturday at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston. Nurse Campbell, who was runner-up in the 2010-2011 programme, topped a field of six finalists. She works at Percy Junor Hospital. Student nurse Brown is completing her studies at The University of the West Indies School of Nursing, Western Jamaica campus. She hopes to specialise in the areas of health informatics and paediatrics. (Photo: Karl McLarty)
