Memorial service for JLP MP McKenley this morning

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A memorial service for Dudley McKenley, former Member of Parliament and brother of track legend, Herb McKenley, will be held at 11:00 am today at the Webster Memorial Church in Kingston.

McKenley, who died at the age of 91 on Saturday, July 16, won the South Western Clarendon constituency in the 1980 general election which was swept by the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) by 51 seats to nine.

At the same time McKenley served as an assistant island supervisor of the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU), and was also involved with track and field activities in the Corporate Area.

The JLP’s Central Executive paid tribute to McKenley’s family at its meeting yesterday. He is survived by his daughter, Dr Maureen Moncrieffe and other relatives.
