Brown Burke condemns murder of market vendor
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Mayor of Kingston Angela Brown Burke has condemned Wednesday’s stabbing death of a vendor at the Coronation Market in downtown Kingston.
Alvin Brown, 28, was stabbed several times during an altercation with a male shopper who later fled the scene.
He later died at hospital while undergoing treatment.
Brown Burke expressed deepest sympathies for the relatives, friends and colleagues of Brown.
The mayor called for unity among members of the society and urged residents to play their part in eradicating the “monster of crime and violence” in the city, which continues to negatively impact the nation.
