Cops launch probe after ganja found in NMIA restroom
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The narcotics police have launched an investigation into the seizure of compressed ganja in a restroom at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, last Thursday.
Reports from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit are that about 10:30 pm, police officers were conducting security checks in a male restroom at the airport when the ganja was found.
According to the police, the ganja weighed just less than half a pound.
While detectives continue to probe the incident, the police say forensic investigators are now examining the drug for any material evidence.
