Pete’swildone retired, Uppa Tune continues
Trainer Ian Parsard is confirming that Pete’swildone, his long-standing top-class campaigner for many years, is now retired from competitive racing at Caymanas Park.
“A decision was taken by the owners of Pete’swildone to end his racing career after approximately four years of competitive performances in the top flight
. “Pete’swildone had difficulties from early in his career, but he was a very tough horse who was able to perform well during his time at the track.
“Pete’swildone did well, and it is only fair that he be allowed to enjoy some green pastures now,” Parsard informed the Complete Racing Guide.
Pete’swildone (Gimmeawink – Wild In Manila) as a four-yearold in 2014 had probably the best day ever in his career when he won the coveted Invitational Mile on Superstakes Day.
He was part of a very formidable team for the Parsard stables along with Uppa Tune, Potcheen and for a brief spell, Boy Wonder.
Parsard also disclosed that Uppa Tune will probably race closer to the end of this season or early in 2017.
“Uppa Tune is on the track exercising and is making steady progress, but based on where he is at the moment and if he continues on the same path, he will be ready to run later this year or early next season,” Parsard said.
