Gov’t to give financial support to sixth form education
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Dr Maurice Smith says the Government will be providing secondary school sixth forms with financial support next year.
Noting that sixth forms are quasi private, he said for now, only textbooks are being provided by the State and that these will be delivered by the end of this month.
The permanent secretary announced the undertaking at the sitting of the Public Administration and Appropriations committee (PAAC), which is now underway at Gordon House in downtown Kingston.
