Jemar Jackson, Odeen Edwards, Phillip Parchment fined, others cautioned
The stewards of the Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) have announced the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the JRC on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.
Jockey Renardo McNaughton who rode Smokin Special in the first race on Saturday, May 21, was fined $4,000 for intimidation and interference caused to Zugulu in the vicinity of the 800-metre point.
Jockey Phillip Parchment who rode Border Line in the fourth race on Wednesday, May 11, was fined $8,000 for interference caused to Frankenstorm and Differentgeneration shortly after the start. He also had his explanation accepted for causing interference to Flying Miracle in the final 200 metres.
Jockey Shane Ellis who rode Uncle Bunny in the sixth race on Saturday, May 21, had his explanation accepted for intimidation and interference caused to Keeping The Links, Kamali’s Star and Ok Dude shortly after the start.
Jockey Wesley Henry who rode Storming in the first race on Wednesday, July 6, was cautioned for the interference caused toMr Ambassador in the final 200 metres.
Jockey Jemar Jackson who rode Tough Cookie in the first race on Saturday, August 17, was fined $8,000 for the interference caused to Chrisanli in the vicinity of the 400-metre point.
Jockey Devon A Thomas who rode Robin’s Quest in the first race on Saturday, August 27, had his explanation accepted for the interference caused to Fourthousand leaving the 800-metre point.
Jockey Odeen Edwards who rode Tamaraq in the sixth (6th) race on Saturday, August 27, was fined $8,000 for interference caused to several horses leaving the 400-metre point.
