A man’s guilty plea was not accepted by Chief Parish Judge Judith Pusey last week after he explained the circumstances of the case.

The court heard that Kevin Williams was charged for placing a forged immigration stamp in his passport.

When asked to explain his situation, Williams noted he was victimised.

“I was scammed your honour,” he stated with remorse. “Somebody tell me they were going to get some work for me to do some shows overseas and say them would need my passport, and I give them.”

“So I give them the passport and them mussi stamp it,” he reasoned, noting that he did not know the stamp was in the passport until he returned home.

Williams was nabbed at the Norman Manley International Airport upon his return from The Bahamas, where he “did some shows” as a magician and artiste.

“The stamp was in the passport from before me leave Jamaica your honour,” he told the judge.

Seemingly pitied by Pusey, Williams’ guilty plea was not accepted and his matter was set for mention on October 14.

“Make sure you explain your matter to the magistrate,” she encouraged.
