#TrackingMatthew: All Gov’t offices, tax offices closed
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Officials have advised that all Government ministries, departments and agencies as well as tax offices will be closed Monday in anticipation of the passage of Hurricane Matthew.
The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) advised a short while ago that all essential services will remain open and ready to respond.
“All none essential employees should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their families during the passage of the Hurricane,” NEOC said.
Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) also advised that all its offices, including the organisation’s head office, revenue service centres, tax offices, stamp office, taxpayer registration centre and customer care centre have been closed.
“We will continue to monitor weather conditions and following an assessment of our locations across the island we will update the public on the resumption of operations via electronic and social media channels,” TAJ said.
