THREE guns were seized by the police in Gordon Town, St Andrew, May Pen, in Clarendon and Ewarton, St Catherine, over the weekend.

One man was taken into custody following the seizure of a Taurus pistol and four 9mm rounds of ammunition in Jackfruit Tree District, Gordon Town on Saturday.

Reports from the Gordon Town Police are that between the hours of 3:35 and 7:45 pm, a team conducting operations in the area searched a house occupied by the man and found the firearm and ammunition. The man was taken into custody; however, his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.

Also on Saturday in Ewarton, at about 7:25 pm, officers from the Linstead Police were on patrol and carried out a search of an abandoned container on a property when a Taurus 9mm pistol with a magazine containing four 9mm rounds was found. No one was taken into custody in relation to that seizure.

Later, at about 8:00 pm, officers were on patrol in May Pen when a robbery was reported. A 16-year-old was stopped, and searched and a Smith and Wesson .38 revolver was taken from him. He is also said to be involved in the robbery that was reported.

He was taken into custody, however, his identity is been withheld pending further investigations.
