Residents protest planned eviction on Red Hills Road

ST ANDREW, Jamaica — A group of angry residents this morning staged a protest along Red Hills Road, St Andrew, in the vicinity of an informal community called ’85’, against pending eviction.

The placard-bearing residents claim that at 6:00 am tomorrow their dwellings will be demolished.

“Mi nuh get nuh notice, dem come and seh wi affi move cause dem a come bulldoze dung the place by tomorrow,” Olivene Spence shouted as she and other protestors stood by and watched as police officers removed debris from the roadway.
