Five cops promoted to assistant commissioner
THE Police High Command yesterday announced the promotion of five senior superintendents of police to the rank of assistant commissioner.
They are:
• Richard Stewart, the staff officer for the Jamaica Constabulary Force;
• Millicent Sproul-Thomas, head of the St Andrew Central Division;
• Ronald Anderson of the Protective Services Division;
• Clifford Chambers, Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch; and
• Fitz Bailey, head of the Clarendon Division.
Sproul-Thomas is only the fourth woman in the history the Jamaica Constabulary Force to have attained the rank of assistant commissioner of police. Deputy Commissioner of Police Novelette Grant, retired Deputy Commissioner Winnifred Hall Wary, and retired Deputy Commissioner Jevene Bent are the three other women to have attained that rank.
