Male celebs paint nails to raise awareness of violence against children

Male celebs paint nails to raise awareness of violence against children

A whole host of male celebrities are now painting a single finger nail. Varied views on guys in nail polish aside, Zac Efron, Liam Hemsworth, Chris Hemsworth, Gabriel Macht and others have embraced the challenge or nomination from other male celebs to paint one finger nail and raise awareness about violence against children.

E! News reports that the campaign launched by Polished Man was inspired by a little girl who had been repeatedly physically and sexually assaulted in the orphanage where she lived. After meeting and bonding with CEO Elliot Costello, she painted his nail and the act and her story inspired him to raise awareness regarding violence against children through nail polish.

Polished Man reminds us that one in five children are affected by violence globally.

The campaign has since inspired thousands of Instagram posts and has pointed many to a worthy cause. Money donated to the charity benefits children for trauma recovery and trauma prevention programmes.

And not to worry, it’s not a boys only kind of thing, women and girls are invited to donate, paint their nails to raise awareness and support the charity as well.
