Two escapees from Denham Town Police Lock-Up to be sentenced
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Two of nine prisoners who escaped from the Denham Town Police Lock-Up on Monday, September 18, are to be sentenced on November 4.
The two — Alex Bailey and Oshane Morgan — were remanded for sentencing after they pleaded guilty to escaping custody and malicious destruction of property yesterday.
Parish Judge Simone Wolf-Reece remanded the duo.
A third escapee, Stephen Burke, who should have appeared, was not brought in and instructions were given for a writ to be sent to the Horizon Remand Centre.
The three men were among nine men who escaped from the lock-up.
Reports from the police were that about 7:30 am on September 18, during a routine cell check, the men were discovered to be missing. They reportedly escaped by cutting through a ventilation grille.
The six other escapees are still reportedly at large.
