Man butts babymother for harassing him via text messages
A man who used his forehead to butt the mother of his child in her forehead causing a wound, claimed he attacked her because she came at him with a pair of scissors.
“She was coming at me with a scissors,” Ryan Rhone told Parish Judge Wolfe Reece when she asked him why he “buck” the complainant.
“She coming at you with a scissors and you buck her, you is a brave man,” the judge replied.
But the complainant, when asked about the incident, told the court that they were involved in an argument when she went inside her house and took up a pair of scissors and Rhone followed her, took away the scissors and ”buck” her.
Rhone, however, told the court that the complainant had slapped him in his face when he held onto her to take away the scissors.
The judge then asked Rhone what had caused the dispute and he said: “She constantly texting my phone and disrespecting me.”
“So she stop text you phone?” the judge then asked Rhone, who quickly answered, “No ma’am.”
“What was the point then?” Judge Wolfe Reece asked Rhone, who did not reply.
The judge then asked the complainant what she wanted her to do with Rhone and she indicated that she had missed two weeks from work because of her injury and wanted compensation in the sum of $12,000.
Rhooms indicated that he had the money to pay the complainant but the judge told him to pay her an additional $3,000 for her pain and suffering, and he complied.
The judge, before letting Rhooms off, warned him to be on his best behaviour and to bear in the mind that he had committed an offence, which could have sent him to prison for three years.
She also advised him: “If you don’t want her to call you, change your number.”
“Stop wasting my time coming down here for foolishness, “ Judge Wolfe Reece added.
