ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – Detectives attached to the Portmore Police Station are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a woman, believed to be in her forties, whose body was fished from the water at Hellshire beach in Portmore, St Catherine, today.

The police say the body is of brown complexion, slim build and about 155 centimetres long. It was reportedly clad in a black blouse with patterned blue blazer, grey underwear, and a multi-coloured white cloth around it.

Reports from the police are that around 8:00 am, residents spotted the body afloat in the water and alerted the police.

Upon their arrival the woman’s body was removed from the water.

The police say the scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post-mortem examination.

In the meantime, the police are asking anyone who can aid them in the investigation by identifying the body to contact the Portmore police at 949-8422, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station
