Justice ministry warns of juror hoax on social media
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Justice has advised the public to treat any communication, by way of email and social media platforms, informing them that they have been selected to serve as jurors, as a hoax.
In a press release this afternoon, the justice ministry said that an email, which appears to originate from legitimate government domain, is circulating advising people that they have been selected to serve as jurors and requesting that they keep the communication confidential.
The Ministry of Justice has stated that the system of selection of jurors has not been changed and that the procedure of contacting people to serve as jurors also remains unchanged.
