KINGSTON, Jamaica — One lucky winner has won the Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) PayDay payout of $150,000 every month for the next 20 years.

According to a news release by SVL, on Monday, November 7, when gamer C Smellie caught all five numbers in the PayDay live draw, all he could see was the realization of his dream of homeownership finally within his grasp.

Smellie purchased his winning ticket from his usual SVL agent in Portmore, St Catherine, during the PayDay 4-Every-1 promotion. The campaign offered customers who purchased a $100 ticket an additional four quickprints, giving them five chances to win.

SVL had also increased the frequency of the PayDay live draws from twice per week to daily at 8:25 pm.

“When I saw the winning numbers come up, I jumped up and my son ask me what happen and I tell him ‘Mi ketch him’,” Smellie said.

Asked of his plans now that he would receive $150,000 every month for the next 20 years, he shared his dream of homeownership, having rented the home he now occupies since 1985.

“I want to buy a house. When I first moved to that house I used to pay $350 for rent, now I’m paying $13,000 just to show you how long I’ve been living there,” he said.

He said efforts to purchase the house never materialized as the landlord passed away.

“The landlord, a nice lady, had given me every assurance that she would sell me the house. She’s dead now and her children told me that the house is not for sale.”

But now that he has an extra income, his options for homeownership have broadened.

Smellie, who said he has played PayDay since its start in January of this year, also buys Super Lotto, Lotto and Top Draw tickets and will continue playing hoping for an even bigger win in the future.
