Two hotel workers killed in staff bus crash
ST ANN, Jamaica — Employees at Bahia Principe Hotel in Runaway Bay, St Ann were plunged into mourning following the death of two of their colleagues Tuesday night.
The two were killed after the staff bus transporting workers to Ocho Rios collided with a parked truck around midnight along the Dunns River main road.
Dead are Jodian Duncan, who worked in the dining room, and Shanique Grey, who was a part of the kitchen staff.
Several other workers were rushed to the hospital where they were treated and released.
Social relations manager at the hotel Farrah Blake said it was a sad atmosphere at the hotel Wednesday morning as employees and managers mourn the tragic loss of the two lives.
“It is very sad. Persons have lost their colleagues so you can just imagine what it is like,” Blake said.
“We just pray for strength at this time,” she added.
