Six killed in Haiti as bus crashes into ravine
PORT AU PRINCE, Haiti (CMC) — At least six people were killed and three others injured when a bus plunged into a river near the intersection leading to Anse-à-Pitres, in the Ganthier/Fonds-Verrettes, area the police confirmed Friday.
Media reports had said that the accident occurred on Wednesday when the unidentified driver of the bus, in attempting to avoid a parked vehicle, lost control of the vehicle that plunged into the ravine where it crashed before catching fire.
The police confirmed the accident, saying that six people had died, two were seriously wounded and the other suffered slight injury.
They said the driver, who survived, was also injured.
