Beenie, Spice ring in new year at Chug It
THOUSANDS of patrons were on hand to ring in 2017 at Chug It New Year’s Eve party at Sugarman’s Beach in Portmore, St Catherine, last Saturday.
The sea of crowd moved to the musical selections from Chromatic, ZJ Chrome, ZJ Rush, and Hyperactive Sound. At the stroke of midnight, the cheers erupted to welcome the New Year.
Several couples kissed and while others cuddled closer at the special hour. The evening’s entertainment package saw topflight dancehall acts Beenie Man and Spice delivering their usually high-energy sets.
Beenie Man’s dance moves coupled with hits, including Girls Dem Sugar, King of the Dancehall, Tear Off Mi Garment, Back It Up and Nuff Gyal found favour among thousands present.
True to her name, Spice gave a ‘spicy’ performance. Flanked by her dancers, who kept the crowd entertained, the female dancehall deejay invited patrons on stage for a ‘Skinny versus Fluffy’ dance off to the single Indicator.
Male patrons were not to be left out, as they were invited to challenge Spice in dance. Organiser Andrew “French” Wright was pleased with the event’s staging.
“Chug It continues to dominate and patrons can look forward to more incredible stagings islandwide for 2017,” said Wright.
