Yaya Toure to China?
Yaya Toure
Toure seems to be the latest victim of China’s relentless efforts to attain almost all the big stars in the game. However, according to his agent, Dimitri Seluk, Toure turned down a lucrative contract offered to him by an unnamed Chinese Football team in order to stay in the Barclays Premier League with Manchester City.
Seluk told Russian media outlet Championat “For all the money in China, there is not a single player at the level of Yaya Toure. I am sure he will play at the highest level for another five years”
Lionel Messi
No immediate potential move for the Barcelona and Argentine legend but reports in Spain suggest that Barcelona CEO Oscar Grau fears that the club will be unable to offer the diminutive attacker an improved contract that will see Messi’s wage rise from that reported £19.6m-per-year he currently earns.
“Barca can’t exceed 70% of its budget on wages and therefore we have to make the numbers add up” Grau said on Wednesday. It is unlikely that Messi will move anytime soon but failed contract negotiations could prove to disrupt the Argentine’s stay at the Camp Nou in the near future.
Morgan Schneiderlin
Schneiderlin arrived at Everton this week to complete a £24million move from Manchester United. It was announced that a deal had been reached by the two clubs on Tuesday for the Frenchman who has had a relatively absent role at Old Trafford since joining in 2015 from Southampton.
Fernando Llorente
Reports are that Blues boss Antonio Conte is interested in Spaniard Fernando Llorente and could even go as far as doing a swap deal with new signing Michy Batshuayi, with the Belgian going on loan at the relegation threatened side. According to British newspapers, Conte seems set to confirm the signing of Llorente at Stamford Bridge in the coming days as the Italian seeks to ease the burden on star striker Diego Costa, who already has 14 goals this season.
Kyle Walker and Danny Rose
According to the Sun in England, Manchester United are set to raid Tottenham’s defence by offering £60million for their two English full-backs. Both players have been exceptional thus far, contributing significantly to Spurs’ title run this season. United will however find it difficult to attain their signatures after the pair recently signed long-term contracts at White Hart Lane back in September.
