Pedestrian dies after being hit by motor car
CLARENDON, Jamaica — A woman has succumbed to injuries she sustained in a motor vehicle collision along the York Town main road in Clarendon on Thursday.
Dead is 49-year-old Merlina Stewart-Daley of Content district in the parish, the police say.
Reports from the May Pen police are that about 5:00 pm, Stewart-Daley was standing on the roadway when she was hit by a Honda CRV motor car. The police were summoned and Stewart-Daley taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the motor vehicle was also taken to hospital, the police say.
Investigations are ongoing.
