Canadian dies in latest Trelawny crash
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — A Canadian tourist died this morning in a two-vehicle collision along the Salt Marsh main road in Trelawny, a second such incident within days.
According to reports, the motorcar drifted into the path of an oncoming Toyota Corolla motorbus, causing both vehicles to collide. The vehicles reportedly veered off the roadway on impact.
The driver of the motorcar died on the spot but the remaining occupants of the car, who are also tourists, have been taken to hospital and are said to be in serious condition.
The driver of the bus is also being treated at hospital. The police are currently processing the scene.
This is the second such incident happening on this roadway since the start of the week.
On Monday, one man died in a three-vehicle collision along the roadway. Eight people, including a tourist, were hospitalised following the crash.
