Supreme Ventures begins stakeholders meeting today
In preparation for its takeover of Caymanas Track Limited (CTL) on March 7, Supreme Ventures Limited, through its newly formed racing entity Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL), will be hosting a series of meetings with stakeholders in the racing industry starting today.
The first of these meetings begins at 10:00 am at the Spanish Court Hotel in St Andrew, where first up will be the trainers, followed by the jockeys and then the grooms.
On Monday at the Knutsford Court Hotel, representatives of SVREL will sit down with the Off-Track Betting (OTB) franchise holders, then the racehorse owners, after which it will be time for the breeders.
Chief operating officer at SVREL, Brando Hayden, indicated to the
Complete Racing Guide that his company has been steadily preparing for the takeover and the time has now come to meet with the stakeholders.
“We at SVREL begin our mission of being the sole promoter of horse racing next week Tuesday, March 7, and as such, it is important to share our vision and our plans with the people who are directly linked to horse racing. This will be done during the course of these scheduled meetings,” Hayden said.
The Complete Racing Guide has also been informed that SVREL intends to meet with CTL staff members on the morning of the takeover (Tuesday March 7) after which a press conference is scheduled for the afternoon. CTL staffers are expected to receive their redundancy payments from government on Monday, March 6.
Tomorrow’s 10-race card is the last race meeting to be conducted by CTL and will have races named after their chairman (Danville Walker) and other board members of the company.
