Taxi driver shot dead, woman, two children injured
HANOVER, Jamaica — A local taxi driver was shot dead in an attack that left two children and a women injured in this parish shortly after 1:00 am yesterday.
Police report that Andrew Malcolm of a Malcolm Heights address in the parish had stopped his car at a shop in Big Well Lane Housing Scheme, Lucea when men on two motorcycles, who were apparently following him, opened fire.
Malcolm, who operates a robot taxi between Lucea and Malcolm Heights, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The owner of the shop and the two children, ages 12 and 13, who were with her were also shot.
The woman and the two children remain in hospital. Their condition is not considered to be serious.
