Shortwood College Principal to be sentenced today
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Shortwood Teacher’s College Principal Dr Christopher Clarke is to know his fate in court today.
Clarke was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving.
The principal is expected to reappear in the St Catherine Circuit Court for sentencing for the second time.
The sentencing was postponed last week after the court was told that the probation report was not ready.
On March 16, 2014, Dr Clarke was involved in a crash which claimed the life of Yvonne Brown along the Old Harbour main road.
Brown was a pillion on a motorcycle which collided with the vehicle being driven by Clarke.
During the trial, Clarke testified that poor lighting along the main road caused the crash. However, the crown said he was driving in a reckless manner which led to the mishap.
