15-y-o girl held with gun in downtown Kingston
A 25-year-old man and his 15-year-old sister are now in police custody following the seizure of an illegal fiream in downtown Kingston yesterday.
The police have not released their identities, but have said detectives are still investigating.
A release from the Corporate Communications Unit said officers from the Kingston Central Police Division were on patrol about 10:10 am, when, on reaching the intersection of Luke Lane and Charles Street, the girl was observed acting suspiciously. The police say she was accosted and searched and the firearm — a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol — along with 16 rounds of ammunition was found.
An additional 53 rounds of ammunition were seized at premises on Luke Lane in what the police have described as “follow-up operation”. The police say the teen’s brother was arrested then.
