Firearm seized in Old Harbour, 3 arrested

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The St Catherine police last night seized a firearm during a vehicular checkpoint that was carried out on Lafette Street in Old Harbour, St Catherine.

Reports from the Old Harbour police are that about 11:20 pm, the three occupants of a Nissan Sylphy motor car were searched and a black and chrome Smith and Wesson found on the passenger in the back of the car.

All three men were taken into custody; however their identities are being withheld until charges are proffered.

Investigations continue.
