NCB/HEART host business management workshop for SMEs

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Commercial Bank (NCB) along with Heart Trust NTA recently held a workshop for representatives from small and medium-sized enterprises to receive training in areas of business management.

A release today said that the workshop was part of the annual NCB Nation Builder Awards/Heart Trust NTA training seminar aimed at developing members of the sector.

The two-day event held at NCB’s Corporate Learning Campus reportedly focused on marketing and social media marketing, human resource management with an emphasis on succession planning; taxation; as well as financial management. The training also included a session on cyber security conducted by NCB’s Richard Patterson and concluded with Heart Trust NTA certification assessments.

“Through this joint venture, we are able to contribute to raising the efficiency of SMEs as the country eyes holistic development. It is a long term investment to facilitate the continued capacity building of entrepreneurs by equipping them to overcome the rigours of nurturing successful business ventures,” said NCB Assistant General Manager in Retail Banking, Marcia Reid-Grant.

“NCB remains committed to encouraging and organising continued training, impressing upon SME leaders that they must be prepared to change as the business landscape is reshaped over time,” she added.
