Provides scholarships to citizens of Caricom or CCRIF member countries to pursue a master’s degree in hazard/disaster related disciplines at Caribbean universities (other than UWI), as well as institutions in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada.

• CCRIF-UWI Scholarship Programme

Provides scholarships to citizens of Caricom or CCRIF member countries for undergraduate and postgraduate study at UWI in fields such as natural resource management, climate change, meteorology, geography/geology, and civil/environmental engineering. Application deadline for undergraduate programmes: May 31, 2017. Application deadline for graduate programmes: June 5, 2017.

• CCRIF Regional Internship Programme

Provides opportunities for university graduates who are citizens of Caricom or CCRIF member countries who have specialised in the areas of disaster risk management, environmental management, actuarial science, geography, climate studies and other similar areas to be assigned to national and regional organisations for practical work assignments

• Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are offered for citizens of developing Commonwealth countries in key development areas. Intended beneficiaries are high-quality postgraduate students who wish to access training not available in their home countries, who wish or need to remain in their home country while they study, and who have the potential to enhance the development of their home countries with the knowledge and leadership skills they acquire. Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships support distance-learning master’s degree courses offered in partnership with local providers in developing countries, as well as courses delivered directly by UK universities. Applications must be submitted to participating universities by May 12, 2017.
