During production for his EP, singer Al Third wanted a title that summed up his mindset. Endless Possibilities seemed perfect.

The four-song project, his first, is scheduled for digital release on May 1. Its lead track,

Love Yourself, is also a motivational statement.

“It’s telling you to be confident. Once yuh have confidence, everything falls into place,” said Al Third.

First Date, Lone Face andLive The Fun are the other songs onEndless Possibilities. The 35-year-old artiste had a hand in the production of each, with Florida-based Philip Kavuma co-producingFirst Date.

“What I do is sit in my home studio an’ come up with ideas. That’s how things went with

Lone Face, I thought it would sound better live, so wi went to Tuff Gong with Raging Fyah an’ they did an excellent job,” said Al Third.

There are plans to release the EP on compact disc and vinyl late this year. For now, he is looking at specific regions.

“Wi going for the Caribbean an’ North America, places like Canada. Wi want to tap into markets that buy music,” he said.

Born Alpheus Johnson, Al Third is from the Waltham Park area of Kingston. He remembers listening to his father’s music collection that included reggae and Rhythm and Blues vocal groups such as The Mighty Diamonds, The Manhattans and The Stylistics.

In 2006, he came to national prominence as a member of harmony trio One Third, which won the Digicel Rising Stars competition that year.

Though the group is intact, Al Third has been doing solo work since 2011 when he recorded

Nothing But Love for producers Young Veterans. Two years ago, he moved into production with his cover of Sam Smith’sI’m Not The Only One.
