St Jago’s Stona sets new Carifta discus record
KINGSTON, Jamaica — St Jago High School’s standout Roje Stona threw 66.41 metres to set a new meet record in the boys’ Under-20 Discus at the Carifta Games in Curacao a short while ago.
Stona erased the mark of 63.11 previously held by former Calabar standout Chad Wright.
Stona’s throw was the first record of this year’s meet for Jamaica.
He won the event ahead of fellow Jamaican Kevin Nedrick, who threw 60.38 metres for silver.
Trinidad and Tobago’s Jacob Konnel was third with a throw of 57.28 metres.
