Small World Family delivered on its promise of Music Is Life, Sound and Power at Redbones Blues Cafe in St Andrew recently.

They presented a show featuring Fredlocks, Levi Seer, Earth Warrior, and Ras Kelly Holt.

The modest gathering was treated to empowering sounds from veteran and emerging artistes.

A workman-like start was given by Ras Kelly Holt, son of Roots Radics bassist Flabba Holt. He did

Mistake Love, Tell No Lies, Danger, andLove Pure And Simple.

Then came Earth Warrior, another blooming act, who gave the most energetic performance. His set included Hugh Mundell’s

Jah Jah Soldier andGirl of My Complexion, as well asLove Triangle, Falla Falla, Do It Inna Africa, and Africa Calling.

Veteran Levi Seer was on point with

Street Life andGot To Leave This Place, on which he was joined by former vocal partner Tony Naphtali, whose support continued with Mama Oh, Roots of Consciousness andCooled Feet.

Fredlocks stamped his class with a vigorous presentation which included

True Rastaman, Dennis Brown’sInseparable, Good Night My Love, I’m Just A Guy, Rastafari Rule, and his signatureBlack Starliner.

His was the closing set as Big Youth, who was billed for that slot, was a no-show.
