Salt Marsh United on verge of semi-final berth in Trelawny FA Major league

FALMOUTH, Trelawny —Former champions Salt Marsh United will need only a point to edge Baca Star United for the remaining semi-final berth in the Trelawny Football Association/Monymusk Plantation Rum Major League when they take on Spicy Hill SC at Georgia playing field on Saturday, as the regular season comes to a close.

Salt Marsh United trail Baca Star on goal difference with both teams locked on 30 points, and a draw would see Salt Marsh United joining knock-out champions Coopers Pen-38 points, mid-season champions Harmony FC- 37 points, and Duanvale FC -32 points, in the semi-finals that are set to start on May 21.Spicy Hill SC have secured their place in next season’s competition and have nothing to play for on Saturday, except pride. If they manage to upset Salt Marsh United, Baca Star United — the losing mid-season finalists — would advance as the fourth-placed team.
