Floodwaters recede but several areas still blocked — JCF
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is warning the public to remain cautious when traversing flood-prone areas as several areas are still affected by the recent torrential rains.
In Clarendon, sections of Chapelton are still experiencing road blockage as a result of landslides and Oak Bridge is partially blocked as a result of a landslide.The Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine is still impassable, the JCF advised, while noting that the main road from Lluidas Vale leading to Ewarton is also blocked and there is still no access to Guys Hill, following the collapse of a section of the main road yesterday.Meanwhile, the Richmond Vale main road in St Thomas is also impassable.Floodwaters, which affected other areas yesterday, have receded, the JCF said in a release from its Corporate Communications Unit (CCU).“We urge the public to continue to remain cautious as a flash flood warning remains in effect for central and eastern parishes until 5:00 pm today,” the police said.
