JPS working to restore electricity despite weather challenges
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Jamaica Public Service Company Limited (JPS) said their teams are continuing work across the island to restore power to customers who have been impacted by outages associated with the weather conditions over the past few days.
In a release, JPS said their crews worked up until 11 o’clock last night, however, their work continues to be impacted by factors such as continuing rain, inaccessible locations and land slippages.The communities presently affected by weather-related power outages include:• Kingston and St Andrew: Luna Field, Deeside, Glengoffe, Zion Hall, Field Avenue, Lawrence Tavern, Valley View, Nannyville, Mountain View, Shooters Hill• St Mary: Gayle, Albany, Bonham Spring, Campbell Well• Hanover: Westland Mountai• St Ann: James Hill, Morgan Forest• St Catherine: Syndenham Villas, Wickham Drive, Sections of Greater Portmore• Clarendon: Danks, Bensentan, Luidas Vale, Croft Hill, Pennants, John’s Hall, Ebony ParkClarendon continues to pose special challenges where access and other issues are concerned — thus impacting the rate of restoration.The company said it will continue to do everything to restore customers as quickly and safely as possible.
