Catherine Hall FC, Heights FC, make winning start in St James FA Senior League semis

MONTEGO BAY, St James – Catherine Hall FC and Heights FC both scored wins on Tuesday in the first-leg semi-finals of the St James Football Association Sandals Resorts International Senior League, beating Lilliput Rovers and Seba FC respectively at the UDC field in Montego Bay.

Jamario Wallace scored a double to lead Catherine Hall to a resounding 3-1 win over Lilliput Rovers, while Heights blanked Seba FC 2-0.The return-leg games will be played next Tuesday with the winners on aggregate qualifying for the final set tentatively for June 18 at Jarrett Park.On Tuesday, Catherine Hall led 1-0 from the 26th minute when Wallace got his first goal, but had to wait until the 85th minute before getting the second against a tough Lilliput Rovers team that wasted their few scoring chances.Donavan Flowers doubled Catherine Hall’s lead before Wallace made it 3-0 in the 88th minute. Stephan Bramwell then pulled one back for Lilliput Rovers in time added on.In the second game, Heights FC wore down Seba FC, then took the lead after the Seba FC Captain Gregory Williams missed a chance from two yards, heading the ball over the crossbar.Heights FC countered from the miss and Kemar Brown scored a half volley, beating the Seba FC goalkeeper Wilton Shaw from point blank range in the 31st minute.Ricardo Wilson doubled the score in the 42nd minute when he beat Shaw with a curling shot from the right side as the ball lodged into the far corner of the goal.
