MIAMI, United States (CMC) — The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency says its Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) unit has removed a man with an outstanding warrant for murder to the Bahamas.

On Friday the agents reported that they turned over Jamal Redmond Wallace to “proper authorities” in the Bahamas the day before.

Wallace, 33, a citizen of the Bahamas, was arrested in Tampa, Florida by US Border Patrol on March 29, the day an arrest warrant was issued by Bahamian authorities, ICE said.

It said Wallace had entered the United States on Nov 1, 2013, on a non-immigrant visa for a temporary period not to exceed April 30, 2014.

“Wallace violated the agreement by remaining in the country past that date,” ICE said.

On May 10, 2017, an immigration judge with the Executive Office for Immigration Review ordered Wallace removed from the United States to the Bahamas, ICE said.

“This removal is evidence that ICE will not allow criminals to hide behind our country’s borders to avoid justice in their home country,” said Marc J Moore, field office director for the Miami Field Office of ERO.
