MANDEVILLE, Manchester — The Manchester High School Class of 1987 had its 30th anniversary reunion celebration from July 7-9.

Activities started with a tour of the school and lyme, followed by a dinner, dance and exposition at the Golf View Hotel, a service at the Mandeville Baptist Church, and a closing lyme at Jack Sprat eatery at Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth.

Organisers say over 100 participants travelling from all over the globe and alumni from the 1960s through the 2000s came out.

For the dinner, dance and exposition at the Golf View Hotel, special alumni honorees were: consultant neurosurgeon and main benefactor of Manchester High School sporting programme Dr Carl Bruce; founder of PCN Kids – an organisation which has provided scholarships for over 50 students in Jamaica since its inception — Garth Abiola; executive director of Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities, Christine Hendricks; Solicitor General Nicole Foster-Pusey and Minister of Health Dr Christopher Tufton, who was also guest speaker at the event.

Educators who have served the school were also honoured. Current principal Jasford Gabriel was presented with a cheque towards the development of the institution and four alumni bursaries given for the new academic year.
