Grenada airport, businesses reopen as TS Don fizzles

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada (AP) — Grenada’s airport and businesses have reopened with authorities reporting no damage or flooding from Tropical Storm Don.

The National Disaster Management Agency says the eastern Caribbean island did not get hit with much rain as the storm rolled through the region.

The US National Hurricane Center says Don has now dissipated.

Meanwhile in the Pacific, two storms have weakened far out over open water.

The centre said Hurricane Fernanda was located about 1,330 miles (2,140 kilometres) east of Hilo, Hawaii, on Wednesday. It had winds of 90 mph (160 kph) and was moving northwest at 9 mph (15 kph).

Tropical Storm Greg was about 550 miles (885 kilometres) southwest of the Manzanillo, Mexico, with winds of 45 mph (75 kph). It was moving west at 10 mph (17 kph).
