Night two of Reggae Sumfest to kick off shortly
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The curtains will close on Reggae Sumfest tonight, as part two of the main event for Jamaica’s largest and longest running reggae show is scheduled to kick off shortly.
Tonight’s show comes after patons were treated to performances from some of the country’s best dancehall acts last night into this morning.
Being staged at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre in Montego Bay, St James, the 25-year-old festival will see a more conscious vibe tonight with eight-time Grammy Award winning artiste/producer, Stephen Marley, who also goes by the moniker ‘Raggamuffin’.
Marley, who was a late addition to the festival, represents the first performance by a Marley since Damian ‘Junior Gong’ Marley took the stage in 2013.
Other top acts to perform for the night are Sizzla, Queen Ifrica, Richie Stevens, Kabaka Pyramid, Christopher Martin, Deep Jahi, Jah Cure, Beenie Man, Sean Paul, Sean Kingston and Mad Cobra.
The show kicked off on Sunday, July 16 with a beach party.
It then moved into the Sumfest Sunset Yacht Party on July 17. The all-white party at Pier One was on July 18, followed by Sumfest Blitz on Wednesday, July 19. On July 20, Pier One hosted the Sumfest Heavyweight Clash.
